Community Updates

Thanks for being a supporter! Here are some important updates to be aware of regarding the Pickled Onion Club community. As alluded to during the community livestream last week, the focus of this community is shifting towards supporting and being updated on the building of Cook Well, our newest venture for educating and equipping home cooks.

If you missed that, you can tune in to the public livestream on the main Ethan Chlebowski channel tonight (1/22 at 6:00pm CST) where more info and context will be given. The goal of that livestream (and future videos) is also to grow this community. After all, the bigger this community is, the better experience it will be for everyone.

You might notice some changes to circle. We’ve simplified the channels, and are shifting our bonus content offerings for Tier 2 members. The detailed offering updates are below, but here are the main changes to be aware of:

Tier 1: Communication channels are condensed into the 🔥 General Q/A + What Are You Making? thread. All general food discussions and questions can go there. We’ve also added a 🛠 Cook Well Bug Report / Feature Request channel for all discussions related to the new website.

Tier 2: Instead of a bi-monthly podcast, we’re shifting to 1 podcast per month and then 1 livestream cook-along with Ethan per month! The bonus newsletters are changing too. Instead of deep-dive bonus topics, you’ll now get an end-of-month newsletter mailbag, such as sneak previews of video and article research, and a Cook Well update roundup.

Tier 1: Cook Well Support

If you just want to support what we are building with Cook Well but are not interested in extra content, this is the right tier for you. As a thank you for the support, you’ll get access to:

🔥 Recipe Inspiration/Q&A Channel - Share photos and recipes that you are cooking and see what other like-minded home cooks are making. Ask culinary questions to the community.

🛠 Cook Well Feature Requests - Help us make cookwell.com the best cooking education product in the world. Did you find a bug? Is there a recipe feature that would make your life easier? Let us know with direct access to our team!

🎞 On-Screen Credit - Have your name listed as a community supporter at the end of each main channel video.

Tier 2: Cook Well Content

Do you want exclusive insights into the behind-the-scenes of building Cook Well and the YouTube channel videos? This is the right place for you. You’ll get access to everything in Tier 1 plus various bonus content offerings:

▶️ Cook-Along Live Stream (1 live per month) - Hosted by Ethan. Every first Monday night of the month we will hold a live stream where we make a new recipe from Cook Well or do some recipe testing. We’ll send out the ingredient list ahead of time then all make it together. The live will be recorded and posted after to enjoy at your leisure.

🎙️ Exclusive Behind the Scenes of Cook Well Podcast (1 episode per month) - Hosted by Ethan and the team. You’ll get to follow along on our journey of building Cook Well as we discuss the latest on website development & feature plans, new recipe and content collections, and products.

📰 Bonus Newsletter (1 edition per month) - While The Mouthful newsletter will always remain free to the public, this bonus newsletter is more focused on our behind-the-scenes work. We’ll share video, recipe, or article research in advance, and recap monthly happenings at Cook Well.

🎨 Illustration Downloads - The Mouthful features weekly recipe illustrations. With Tier 2 access, you can download all past and future drawings in high-resolution files and use them as you please.

💻 Cook Well Application & Product Feedback - In 2024, we will be starting to build out a core product line and developing a Cook Well application that we’ll need your feedback on to make it the best it can be.
